Industry: Food and beverage
Application: Product marking
The customer: MAGGI GmbH, a subsidiary of Nestlé Deutschland AG, that produces soups, seasonings and noodles internationally.
Requirements:
MAGGI GmbH approached LEIBINGER looking for a coding and marking system that would reduce costs, improve sustainable processes, and relieve employees of routine tasks.
The challenges & solution:
The MAGGI GmbH packaging division employs approx. 120 people and places the highest emphasis on being efficient, as well as ensuring safety and delivering high quality.
At the MAGGI Packaging Division, about 120 workers work two or three shifts. One person works on the line that packs vegetable broth into containers; their duties include replacing the lids on the containers, verifying the weights, and tagging the product. The variety of activities emphasizes how important it is for the marking system to function consistently. Ultimately, in the packaging line, 70 containers are packed per minute, labelled with production data and the best-before date.
LEIBINGER’s IQJET was the perfect fit for MAGGI’s requirements because of its ability to print smoothly, without the need for employee intervention. This innovative marking system excels with exceptional performance, reliability and the lowest possible energy costs – consuming only 36 watts on average. In terms of TCO values, up to 50% less solvent consumption and significantly reduced emissions. Additionally, the IQJET is also maintenance-free for 5 years – a truly unique feature in the coding & marking market.
These benefits result in improved planning and more production time for the customer.
